Hybrid Cars Available in the US
[ad]
Conservation minded individuals, or those who just want one of the newest and best vehicles on the market, will want to consider hybrid cars available in the US.
There is a variety of vehicles that fit into this genre of lower energy consumption. One of the first myths to overcome is the myth that these vehicles do not have enough power behind them. They do, and some are breaking record across the board.
What You Will Find
What will you find when you purchase hybrid cards available in the United States? First, you will find that these vehicles are good at reducing the amount of pollution they provide. They also use far less gas than other vehicles with similar sized engines and designs. For example, many use hydrogen power rather than standard gasoline engines. A good example of this level of quality is the BMW hybrids that are coming onto the market. These cars are hydrogen powered that have fuel cells that keep them fuel-efficient and limit their consumption of gasoline.
The technology for these hybrid cars available in the U.S. is cutting edge and continues to be so. In the BMW model, the combination of hydrogen and gasoline is in use rather than a sole gas and electric vehicle. A total hydrogen based vehicle is fifteen or more years out in terms of technology.
Hydrogen is a great option because it does not produce any harmful emissions when it is burned by the engine of the vehicle. This means no pollution. Plus, hydrogen is easily renewable, making it a good choice over oil base products or coal based products since it is not reliant on the amount of fossil fuel available. This type of vehicle can really cut down on the dependency the country has on fossil fuels.
The BMW hybrid is still in the work though prototypes are being tested in Europe. There are other hybrids currently on the market to take into consideration, though. For example, here are some of the hybrid cars available in the US:
*The Toyota Prius Gets 48 city miles and 45 highway with an annual fuel cost of about $615 with a carbon footprint of just 4.0.
*The Honda Civic Hybrid gets 40 city and 45 highway miles and has an annual fuel cost of $675. It has a carbon footprint at 4.4.
*Nissan Altima Hybrid is a slightly less successful vehicle with 35 city and 33 highway miles and a fuel cost of about $833. The carbon footprint is still low, but slightly higher than other models at 5.4.
Look for more additions to the line up in the coming months and years. Many of the top rated cars for hybrid technology are imports, but there may be some exciting products coming from US automakers in the coming years, too. Chevy is producing a more fuel efficient Silverado, for example and GMC has the Sierra 15 that has a better carbon footprint than standard models.
Hybrid cars available in the US range in size, function, and overall quality. You can count on powerful, fully featured vehicles that just have a lower carbon footprint to continue to be produced. Vehicles like the BMW hybrid are designed to impress.
